On August 27, 2022, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha raises concern over raising Drug abuse in the state and called for any necessary efforts to be made to eliminate drug abuse.
During the prize distribution ceremony of MTB Girls’ HS School here in Agartala, he addressed that despite the efforts being taken for the “Nesha Mukta (Drug-free)” campaign the youth is going towards the various drug practice and becoming “Nesha-Jukta (Drug addicted)”.
He says, the life of the student not only consists of studies but they should also lead a disciplined life. In the young generation, it is seen that many girls are also getting involved in Drug addiction and various narcotic substances. They forget the direction of their life by doing drugs which destroys the dreams of not only them but also their family who raised them to be independent human beings. The Society should join together and make effort toward building a “Nesha-Mukta (Drug-free) society”.
Measures are being taken by reserving 33 percent of the seats for women in the government job for empowering women. It is necessary to give importance to sports, culture, and literary practices in addition to the studies of the students.
Chief Minister also praised Maharani Tulsibati Class XII Girls School and he hopes that this school will increase the reputation of the state in the future through the sweet relationship between the teachers and the students.
Students are the assets of our society it is our duty to preserve them and make them a good human beings. If this Drug Addiction series continues it will not take much time for them to become a liability to our society. By acknowledging the disadvantages of these activities and giving them proper mental health support we need to take steps to prevent Drug addiction.
