The country is reaching the pinnacle of development today through the strong thinking of the Prime Minister and the successful implementation of development plans. Tripura is also moving towards development on the path shown by the Prime Minister. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the North East Regional Conference on PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity organized by Department of Industry and Commerce at Auditorium No. 1 of Prajna Bhavan in Agartala today.
On this day, the Chief Minister said that in the past, due to the lack of coordination of various departments, once the road was constructed, various departments used to dig the road and install gas or various lines under the ground. As a result, the road was damaged and money was wasted. PM kinetics eliminates such problems and accelerates the infrastructure development process through proper planning by coordinating across departments.
According to him, from time to time the Prime Minister’s response to some innovative programs creates a stir in the minds of the countrymen. Incidentally, he highlighted the successful implementation of the Har Ghar Tricolor program across the country. The Chief Minister said that various issues will be discussed in this regional conference on PM momentum which will give momentum to the implementation of various development programs in the coming days. He also emphasized on the need to review the progress of PM momentum.
He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented the Act East policy for the overall development of North Eastern states. As a result, the development of this region is accelerating. Tripura has also seen great progress in various fields including communication. Construction of 6 National Highways is underway in Tripura with the help of the Central Government and Rs 10,222 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 7 more National Highways. Tripura is in a good position in terms of internet. He said, due to the development of rail communication in Tripura, currently around 12 express trains are plying from Agartala to different parts of the country. Besides, an initiative has been taken to modernize the Agartala railway station into one of the most modern railway stations in the country. Moreover, he also mentioned that Maharaja Bir Vikram Airport in Agartala is one of the best airports in North Eastern region.
Industry and Commerce Minister Santvana Chakma said on the occasion that Tripura has been recognized as a fast mover state in implementation of PM Gati Shakti programme. The present state government is continuously working for development in all fields. He urged everyone to work together to make one Bharat Shrestha Bharat and One Tripura Shrestha Tripura. Tingku Roy, Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation was present on the occasion. Lokranjan, Secretary of the Ministry of Donors, Government of India also spoke on the occasion. Also present were Sourav Endle, Joint Secretary of Donor Ministry, Rajendra Rat, Joint Secretary of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under MSME Ministry of Government of India, Apoorba Roy, Secretary of Planning and Coordination Department of Tripura Government and others. The regional conference was attended by top administration officials of North Eastern states, officers of Indian Air Force, Indian Army, CEOs of various industries and representatives of PSUs. In the conference, the dignitaries present presented in detail the issues of PM dynamics through presentations.
