Guwahati :  Arunachal Pradesh witnessed a proud milestone today as the new terminal building of the Donyi Polo Airport at Hollongi, Itanagar, was officially operationalized in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu.

Until now, passenger services at the airport were being managed from a temporary facility, as the state government and authorities prioritized early commencement of flights following the completion of the airport in 2022. The inauguration of the new terminal marks a significant leap in infrastructure, enhancing both capacity and convenience for travelers.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the transformative role the facility will play in connecting the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the rest of the country. “With this terminal, we are not just improving infrastructure, we are improving lives. Students traveling for education, entrepreneurs reaching out for business, and families seeking healthcare will now have easier access to major cities,” he said.

Designed with modern amenities, the terminal is expected to boost tourism, trade, and economic activities in the region, while also reinforcing Arunachal Pradesh’s strategic connectivity. The development stands as a symbol of the Centre’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity in the Northeast.
