Former Mrs. Universe winner and global peace ambassador, Dr. Thejo Kumari Amudala, was a guest of honor at the International Ramayana Prathishta Mahothsav held recently in Ayodhya.
The event, which took place at the newly constructed Ram Mandir, drew visitors from across India and abroad. It featured a rich tapestry of cultural performances, including tabla and mridangam recitals, as well as dramatic reenactments of scenes from the Ramayana.
Dr. Amudala’s presence added a special touch to the proceedings. During the festival, she was presented with the International Ramayana Mahothsav Puraskar by Member of Parliament Sanathan Pandey, recognizing her efforts in promoting global peace and cultural understanding.
Speaking to attendees, Dr. Amudala drew an interesting parallel between her birthplace of Tirumala Tirupati and Ayodhya. “Just as Tirupati is renowned as a pilgrimage site, I hope to see Ayodhya achieve similar reverence,” she remarked. Her words were met with enthusiastic chants of “Jai Shri Ram” from the crowd.
The International Human Rights and Crime Control Council sponsored the event, which aimed to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Ramayana while fostering cultural exchange and unity.
As the festival concluded, it was clear that the International Ramayana Prathishta Mahothsav had succeeded in bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, united in their appreciation of this ancient epic and its timeless teachings.
