Tuliram Ronghang, born on August 6, 1972, in Artukekang, Dongkmukam, West Karbi Anglong, is a notable Indian politician serving as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). He has held this influential position since October 24, 2013, with subsequent terms beginning on July 7, 2017, and June 23, 2022. In June 2016, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further solidifying his commitment to public service and governance.
Tuliram was born into a Karbi family to Mr. Joysing Ronghang and the late Basapi Teronpi. He received a solid academic foundation, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Guwahati Commerce College after his early education at Dongkamukam High School and Hojai College.
His dedication to public service has been recognized with an honorary doctorate from Bharath Virtual University of Peace and Education, registered under NITI Aayog, Government of India. He also received the “Samonoy Bota Award” from Padmashree Rongbong Terang.
Outside of his political commitments, Tuliram enjoys playing badminton and encourages physical fitness. He serves as the President of the Karbi Anglong Sports Association and the Working President of the Assam Badminton Association. His contributions to sports and youth development are significant, and he is dedicated to supporting local agriculture and constructing educational institutions, demonstrating his commitment to his community’s upliftment.
