Fire Breaks Out in Residential Area

A devastating fire broke out in the Jamjuri area of Udaipur on Saturday morning. As a result, farmer Abul Qashem lost his home and belongings.

The fire started due to a suspected electrical short circuit. Within minutes, flames engulfed two tin-roofed huts at the residence.

Efforts to Control the Blaze

Abul Qashem quickly alerted his neighbours and called the fire brigade. Soon after, firefighters reached the spot with fire tenders.

However, the narrow road prevented vehicles from getting close to the house. Despite this challenge, firefighters used long hoses to draw water from a nearby pond and worked hard to control the fire.

Eventually, they managed to douse the flames. By then, both huts had been completely destroyed along with all belongings.

Student Loses Admit Card

The incident dealt a severe blow to the family. Billal Hossain, the farmer’s son, is currently appearing for the Higher Secondary (+2) examination conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education.

Unfortunately, his admit card was also destroyed in the fire. This loss could affect his ability to appear in the ongoing examinations.

Heavy Financial Loss and Panic

The fire caused an estimated loss of around ₹10 lakh. In addition, it triggered panic among residents in the Jamjuri area.

Local police from Udaipur reached the spot and documented the incident. Meanwhile, authorities have begun assessing the damage and circumstances.
