Jhanjharpur, Bihar, a place far from the bustling startup hubs of India, is where the remarkable journey of Shanu Kumar, Founder & CEO of Xoopic Media, first began. Today, Shanu stands as one of India’s youngest and fastest-rising entrepreneurs in digital branding and PR. But his path to success has been anything but ordinary.
Growing up in a modest family, Shanu always dreamt bigger than his surroundings. At just 15, he imagined building a company of his own, leading a team, solving problems, and creating meaningful opportunities. But it wasn’t until his BBA days, after scoring an impressive 89 percentile in the CAT exam and still missing out on his dream college, that his life’s direction took a dramatic shift. When the pandemic hit, Shanu realized he wasn’t meant for a typical job. He wanted to create, not just follow. And so, he made the bold decision to start his own company.
With nothing more than an old laptop, unwavering determination, and the constant support of his Papa, Mummy, and Bhai, Shanu launched Xoopic Media without any formal vision, roadmap, or godfather in the industry. But destiny had its own plan.
Six months into building his startup, tragedy struck. A severe spine condition pushed him into a major surgery and left him bedridden for an entire year. For most people, life stops there. For Shanu, it was the turning point.
As soon as he recovered, the universe rewarded his resilience, his first major international client arrived: a $120 deal from a Hollywood director. It wasn’t the amount that mattered, but the message: your comeback has begun.
From there, Shanu’s rise has been nothing short of extraordinary. Starting with a ₹10,000 social media management gig for a cricket tournament, he went on to work with multiple Bollywood celebrities, high-profile entrepreneurs, and even a well-known pop singer from the UK. At just his age, he earned recognition as India’s Youngest Brand Builder, making his hometown and family proud.
What drives Shanu today is not just success, but impact.
He dreams of building India’s biggest PR agency, one that creates real opportunities for young talent. Many college students now call him their mentor. He guides them, gives them projects, and helps them break into the industry he once entered alone.
Behind everything he does lies a simple, powerful motivation: to make his Mom and Dad financially free and proud.
Shanu Kumar’s story is proof that greatness doesn’t come from privilege, it comes from purpose, perseverance, and the courage to rise after every fall.
From Jhanjharpur to the global stage, his journey has only just begun.
