Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary arrived in Northeast India on a two-day visit to the state of Mizoram on Monday. On reaching the capital Aizawl Airport, local BJP workers and agriculture officials welcomed the Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Kailash Chaudhary.
After that, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary attended the program organized on the occasion of 24th Foundation Day of the College of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Science of Central Agricultural University in Aizawl, Mizoram. In the program, inaugurated the Vocational Training Center and Multi-Technology Testing Center and interacted with the farmers and farmer union heads.
Addressing the program organized at the Agricultural University, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary said that the government is taking all possible steps to double the income of the farmers of the Northeast region. Talking about the various schemes of the Central Government going on in the agricultural sectors of the northeastern states, he said that the northeastern region is resource-rich and has immense potential along with climate diversity, which can help in building the country and the world. He said that there are a lot of employment opportunities in the field of agriculture and tourism in these states. Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary said that the Prime Minister has adopted the vision of developing the Northeast region as a hub of organic farming. He said that there are immense possibilities for the development of horticulture sector, which can bring economic prosperity in this area.
Before participating in the program organized at the Agricultural University, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary first interacted with the party functionaries and workers along with State President Vanlah Muakha at the State BJP office located in the capital Aizawl. During this, Union Minister Kailash Chaudhary paid tribute to the departed people by observing a two-minute silence on the painful accident in Morbi, Gujarat.
Addressing the workers, Kailash Choudhary said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made many efforts in the last 8 years to bring peace in the Northeast, increase connectivity and give priority to the development of the region. The entire country considers the language, culture, food and costumes of the Northeast as its heritage and the Modi government is trying to preserve and promote the identity of this region.
