Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a comprehensive review of government welfare schemes in five Assembly constituencies of Assam. This Himanta Biswa Sarma review was part of a state-level outreach campaign to evaluate grassroots implementation of development programs.

The reviewed constituencies included Palasbari, Chaygaon, Boko, Hajo, and Jalukbari. During his visit, the CM interacted with local beneficiaries, government officials, and elected representatives to assess the impact of health, education, housing, and women-centric schemes.

Key Areas Covered in the Review Meetings

CM Sarma’s review sessions focused on monitoring the performance of major government schemes. His agenda included:

  • Orunodoi Scheme: Beneficiary verification, fund disbursement issues, and digital tracking
  • PMAY (Gramin & Urban): Speed of construction and bottlenecks in subsidy release
  • Mission Basundhara: Progress on land-related service delivery in rural belts
  • Amrit Brikshya Andolan: Tree planting targets and school participation
  • Swanirbhar Naari: Empowerment and self-help group activities led by rural women

The Himanta Biswa Sarma review highlighted both success stories and areas needing immediate attention. In Chaygaon, for instance, he praised officials for achieving 98% Orunodoi coverage. Meanwhile, in Boko, he instructed officers to fast-track PMAY house completions.

CM Calls for Speed, Sensitivity in Scheme Delivery

While addressing local meetings, the CM stressed the need for speed, transparency, and sensitivity. “The aim is not just to deliver schemes, but to deliver them with dignity,” he said.

He also warned officials against delays and irregularities. “Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of negligence,” Sarma asserted.

The Himanta Biswa Sarma review included field inspections and door-to-door interactions, where he directly questioned beneficiaries about their experience with state-run programs.

Governance Model Gets Thumbs-Up from Citizens

People across the five constituencies welcomed the CM’s visits. Several residents expressed satisfaction with the changes brought by schemes like Orunodoi and Mission Basundhara.
