Residents Stop Suspicious Truck
Local residents in Moirang first noticed suspicious movement on April 26. Therefore, they intercepted the truck and alerted authorities.

Investigators quickly traced the consignment to Agro-Tech Solutions in Kwakta. Moreover, they found that the shipment originated from Bihar.
However, officials confirmed that the firm lacks registration to distribute fertilisers in the state. As a result, authorities classified the entire operation as illegal.
Government Launches Legal Action
The Directorate of Agriculture, Manipur has now begun legal proceedings against all involved parties. This includes suppliers as well as intended recipients.
Officials stated that the case violates rules governing fertiliser transport and sale. Furthermore, they described the incident as unprecedented due to the scale of the consignment.
Fertiliser Supply Remains Stable
Despite the incident, the department assured farmers about sufficient fertiliser availability. Last year, officials distributed around 1.1 lakh bags across the state.
Currently, nearly 1 lakh bags remain in stock. In addition, authorities plan to procure another 70,000 to 80,000 bags in the coming months.
To improve access, the government has already set up around 150 distribution points. It has also introduced door-to-door delivery services for farmers.
Arunachal Pradesh Highlights Infrastructure Needs
Meanwhile, Pema Khandu met Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of strong infrastructure in border districts.
He explained that better connectivity improves both national security and economic growth. Therefore, he requested continued central support.
Priority Project Receives Focus
Khandu highlighted the Akajan–Likabali–Bame corridor as a key project. This corridor will connect Assam’s plains with remote districts like Upper Subansiri and Shi-Yomi.
Additionally, the project includes a bridge over the Taro Tamak River. The Border Roads Organisation continues to carry out major construction work.
