First Tripura Cricketer to Reach Milestone
Tripura cricketer Manishankar Murasingh received a warm felicitation in Agartala on Wednesday after becoming the first player from the state to appear in 100 Ranji Trophy matches. The Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) hosted the ceremony, which drew senior government officials, former cricketers, sports administrators, and enthusiastic supporters.
Chief Minister Praises Historic Feat
Chief Minister Manik Saha attended the event and described Murasingh as the “pride of Tripura.” He said the achievement marked a historic moment for the state, as no Tripura player had previously crossed even the 40 or 50 match mark in India’s premier domestic cricket tournament.
Saha noted that Murasingh’s milestone would inspire young cricketers across the state. He said the achievement demonstrated what dedication and perseverance could deliver, even from regions with limited sporting exposure.
