Mizoram’s CM Zoramthanga said in a post on his Instagram handle regarding his daughter misbehaving with a doctor ‘We have nothing left to justify and claim it right.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Saturday publicly apologized for the misbehavior of his daughter on his official Instagram handle. This week his daughter ‘misbehaved’ with a doctor, after which the CM has now apologized, saying that he will not justify his conduct in any way.
The Chief Minister’s only daughter, Millari Chhangte, was recently seen beating up a doctor in a clinic in a purported video clip that went viral on social media. The incident had sparked outrage in the medical world, due to which more than 800 doctors protested on Saturday condemning the attack.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) also condemned the incident. Members of IMA Mizoram also staged a protest wearing black batches yesterday. One of the protesters, Lalhutthangi Hamar, told news agency PTI that Chhangte assaulted an Aizawl-based dermatologist on Wednesday when he sought an appointment before going to the clinic for consultation. “We wish that such acts of violence against doctors should never be repeated,” the Mizoram chapter of the association said in a statement.
The CM said on Instagram that he had met the dermatologist and apologized. He also thanked the IMA for not initiating any “strong action” against Chhangte. The CM said that we have nothing to justify or say about the behavior of our daughter towards the doctor. We apologize to the doctor and the public.
Earlier, Chhangte’s elder brother, Ramthansiama also issued an apology on social media saying that his sister had spiraled out of control due to mental stress.
