An incident has happened in West Joynagar, Tripura, where a mother allegedly beat her 8-year-old son to death. Suprabha Gowala, the accused, reportedly resorted to this extreme measure due to her inability to handle her son’s misbehavior. The incident occurred on the evening of June 10, sending shockwaves through the community. West Agartala Police Station swiftly responded to the situation and took Suprabha into custody.

According to the authorities, Suprabha Gowala recently relocated to West Joynagar from Kailashahar with her son after her husband, Ram Gowala, abandoned them. On that fateful Monday evening, around 6 pm, Suprabha purportedly tied her son with a rope and inflicted fatal blows upon him with a bamboo stick.

Upon interrogation, Suprabha confessed to the heinous act, expressing her distress over her son’s behavior, which she found intolerable. She recounted instances of him stealing money from their residence and causing disturbances when taken to her workplace, adding to her anguish.

A case has been filed against Suprabha Gowala under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for murder. Despite having a married daughter, Suprabha reportedly asserted her willingness to accept any punishment, including the death penalty, for her actions.

The police have recovered the lifeless body of the minor from the scene of the crime. An ongoing investigation aims to uncover further details surrounding the tragic incident, shedding light on the circumstances that led to such a devastating outcome.

The heart-wrenching incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of addressing mental health and support systems for individuals facing challenging circumstances. It underscores the need for societal awareness and intervention to prevent such tragedies from recurring, emphasizing the significance of early intervention and support for struggling families.
