Focus on Technology-Based Learning Under the New Nagpur University Woman VC
Dr Kshirsagar stressed the importance of introducing innovative, technology-based courses across departments. She said students must learn digital tools, advanced systems and industry-relevant technologies. With rapid changes affecting every sector, she believes graduates must have practical and modern skills to stay competitive.
She also noted that many students are now interested in fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, robotics, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. These subjects offer strong job prospects and global exposure. Because of this, the university will expand its academic choices and update its teaching approach.
Moreover, Dr Kshirsagar mentioned that modern classrooms require improved labs, digital learning spaces and stronger research support. She wants students to work with real systems and gain hands-on experience. These skills will help them secure better opportunities when they enter the workforce.
New VC Plans Industry-Focused Courses for Skill Growth
During the interaction, Dr Kshirsagar shared her plan to design industry-focused courses. She said the university must understand what industries expect from graduates. Once these expectations are clear, the university can create programmes that match real-world needs.
She also said that industry experts will be consulted regularly. Their guidance will help the university improve its syllabus and teaching methods. This collaboration will give students the skills companies want, making them job-ready.
Additionally, she highlighted the importance of internships, field visits and industry-led workshops. These activities help students experience real work environments. With stronger industry interaction, the university will prepare skilled manpower that supports economic growth in the region.
Administrative Reforms and Ranking Targets Under the Nagpur University Woman VC
Dr Kshirsagar also announced that the university will review its administrative processes. She said certain systems need updates to improve speed and efficiency. Since the institution is more than a century old, some procedures may not meet current needs. With better systems in place, students and staff will receive faster support and smoother services.
She emphasised that improving the university’s rankings will be another key priority. She said that the institution aims to strengthen its position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Higher rankings help attract students and boost academic reputation.
The university has also applied for QS ranking, which is one of the most recognised global ranking systems. Dr Kshirsagar believes this step will give the university national and international visibility. She added that better research output, improved facilities and stronger academic performance will support this goal.
With Dr Manali Kshirsagar taking charge as the first Nagpur University woman VC, the institution enters a new era. Her focus on technology, industry partnerships and administrative reforms signals a strong commitment to building a future-ready university that prepares students for modern challenges.
