Surjyamani Nagar in West Tripura witnessed a grand felicitation ceremony on Thursday as nearly 700 meritorious students who passed their Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations with distinction were honored in a public event. The program, held at the Tripura Central University auditorium, was organized under the initiative of local MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Ram Prasad Pal, continuing his annual tradition of recognizing young achievers.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Ramen Deka, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Governor Deka lauded the initiative, stating that such a large-scale felicitation of students by a legislator is a rare and commendable effort across India.
In the presence of MLA Ram Prasad Pal, students received laptops, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches as recognition of their academic achievements and motivation for future success. Speaking on the occasion, Pal assured that this initiative would continue every year. He also urged students to remain committed to studies, avoid drugs, and contribute towards building a brighter future.
Although Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha could not attend the event, Governor Ramen Deka later paid a courtesy visit to his residence in Agartala.
