The National People’s Party has taken a major step to reorganise its structure in Manipur. NPP president Conrad K Sangma formally welcomed Lorho S Pfoze as the new chief of the Manipur unit during a programme held in Shillong on December 2. The move signals a clear shift in the party’s approach as it prepares for important political phases in the state. Because Manipur has seen rapid political changes in recent years, the leadership reset aims to build a stronger and more stable foundation.
Conrad Sangma, who also serves as Meghalaya’s chief minister, said the new leadership brings fresh direction. According to him, the party wants deeper engagement with the people of Manipur. Therefore, the revised structure will focus on coordination, outreach, and consistent communication across districts. He added that the NPP Manipur leadership will now work with a clear roadmap designed to support long-term growth.

New Leadership Brings Fresh Push to the NPP Manipur Leadership
Lorho S Pfoze, a well-known figure in regional politics, has taken charge at a crucial time. He previously served as Lok Sabha MP from Outer Manipur and remains active in community issues. Because of his experience, the party believes he can guide the organisation with a balanced and practical approach. Conrad Sangma expressed confidence in Pfoze’s ability to connect with various groups and build trust among grassroots workers.
During the event, Pfoze said that the people of Manipur want stability and fairness. He also noted that the NPP must respond to these expectations. Since public confidence grows through direct engagement, he plans to visit all districts and speak with workers regularly. His aim is to strengthen internal communication and create a united organisational atmosphere.
The NPP Manipur leadership will now focus on rebuilding its district units. The party plans to train young workers and involve them in planning activities. Since youth participation strengthens political outreach, the new team will introduce more platforms for young voices.
Organisational Reset Aims to Expand the NPP Manipur Leadership Base
Conrad Sangma highlighted that the NPP must expand its presence in Manipur. He said the reorganised structure will help the party respond better to regional needs. Because Manipur has diverse communities, the leadership wants to address local concerns through district-level interactions. Thus, the party will set up committees to identify issues that must be taken up at the state level.
Moreover, the NPP wants to improve coordination between its units in the Northeast. Sangma stated that stronger cooperation allows the organisation to craft better strategies. Since Manipur remains a key state in the region, the leadership reset is part of the larger plan to strengthen the party’s Northeast network.
The party will also focus on training, documentation, and management. Because sound organisation supports political success, Sangma said the NPP Manipur leadership must be prepared for upcoming challenges. He also added that a clear structure helps workers act with confidence.
NPP Manipur Leadership Eyes Stronger Presence Ahead of Political Cycles
With important political cycles ahead, the NPP is aiming for a firm position in Manipur. Conrad Sangma said the party must stay active on the ground. Since people respond to consistent presence, he urged workers to maintain regular contact with communities. He also encouraged leaders to highlight the party’s development-oriented approach.
The new NPP Manipur leadership intends to engage more with youth groups, women’s groups, and local organisations. These engagements help parties understand issues at the ground level. Since the political landscape in Manipur evolves quickly, the team wants to respond to concerns without delay.
Sangma concluded that the organisational reset will shape the party’s journey in Manipur. With Lorho S Pfoze leading the unit, the NPP hopes to build a stronger and more connected organisation. The leadership believes that consistent effort, structured planning, and community-based outreach will help the party expand its base in the state.
