Police Seized 125 Kg Marijuana Worth 6 Lakhs, in Gopalnagar

After getting a specific secret information regarding the quality of contrabrand items hidden in a particular house, the police from the borderning Sidhai police station under Mohanpur assembly constituency, raided the house in Gopalnagar.
In the presence of sub divisional police officer Dr. Kamal Bikash Majumder, an officer in-charge of Sindhai police station Jayanta Malakar, conducted a search operation and seized some 125 kg of dry marijuana hidden in sacks.

According to the police officials, the price of the seized contraband on the black market is around Rs 6 lakh.
Police arrested the owner of the read it house Ratan Dev and an NDPS case was registered against him.

After apprehending marijuana from vehicles while being transported in vehicles out of the state, Tripura Police adopted a new strategy focusing on stopping it at the sources and from where it is being procured.

Later in the day, the arrested person was forwarded to court with five days of police remand.
