TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma has reached the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to campaign for Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) leader Hagrama Mohilary ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections 2025.

Deb Barma joined Mohilary in the Srirampur constituency today, addressing public gatherings and extending support to the BPF. He urged party workers to stay united in the run-up to polling day and assured full cooperation to Mohilary’s campaign.

One of the key electoral battles is in the 14 Chirang Duar constituency, where Mohilary is contesting against Kampa Borgoyari. Borgoyari, a former BPF leader, joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) earlier this year and is now in direct contest with his former party.

The BTC elections will see multiple parties in the fray, including the BPF, UPPL, Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Alternative Party of Bodoland (APB), led by Anjali Daimary.

According to the election schedule, polling will take place on September 22 across 3,359 polling stations. Counting of votes is fixed for September 26, while re-polling, if required, will be conducted on September 24. The total electorate for the elections is 6,57,937.

Party workers and observers say the campaign is intensifying as the polls draw near, with senior leaders from different political groups actively engaging with voters.
