Rabindra Reang, Media In-Charge of the BJP’s Janajati Morcha (Tribal Wing) in Tripura, has alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the BJP in the state. In a video message released on Thursday, Reang claimed that sections within the BJP’s alliance partners are plotting against the party to weaken its base.

In his statement, Reang strongly defended Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s recent comment regarding the origin of the Reang community. The Chief Minister had said that many members of the Reang community came from Bangladesh, a remark that drew criticism from various political quarters.

Backing the Chief Minister, Reang said, “Many Reangs are from Bangladesh. The Chief Minister’s statement is factually correct.” He urged political leaders not to exploit the issue for political purposes, adding that attempts to twist the Chief Minister’s words would not be tolerated.

Reang also cautioned leaders against engaging in excessive politics over the matter, indirectly addressing Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, who has recently been critical of the BJP. He stated, “Do not try to use the Chief Minister’s words for political gain. The BJP is aware of the ongoing conspiracy, and we will not remain silent.”

His video statement has stirred discussions in political circles across Tripura, coming at a time when tensions between the BJP and its tribal ally are already high over issues related to the demand for Tiprasa development.

Reang’s remarks have drawn widespread attention on social media and within the state’s political arena, highlighting growing friction within the ruling alliance and signaling a possible realignment of tribal politics in the near future.
