In a groundbreaking move that could reshape Mumbai’s real estate landscape, Jayesh Shah, Managing Director of Ravi Group, has announced an ambitious plan to develop India’s first large-scale carbon-neutral residential complex.

The project, tentatively named “Green Horizon,” is set to be built on a 50-acre plot in the rapidly developing Mira Road area. It aims to house over 5,000 families in a self-sustaining ecosystem that will generate its own renewable energy, recycle water, and maintain expansive green spaces.

“At Ravi Group, we believe in looking beyond just constructing buildings. Our vision is to create living spaces that harmonize with nature and contribute positively to the environment,” Shah stated at a press conference held yesterday.

The Green Horizon project will feature state-of-the-art solar panels, wind turbines, and a comprehensive waste management system. Additionally, it will include urban farming initiatives, allowing residents to grow their own produce.

This innovative approach to urban development comes at a crucial time when Mumbai faces increasing environmental challenges. The project is expected to set a new benchmark for sustainable living in India’s financial capital.

Alongside this eco-friendly initiative, Shah also revealed plans for a significant expansion of Ravi Group’s affordable housing portfolio. The company aims to deliver 25,000 affordable homes across Mumbai Metropolitan Region over the next five years.

“We recognize the pressing need for affordable housing in Mumbai. Our goal is to ensure that quality homes are within reach for a broader segment of our society,” Shah explained.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from both environmental activists and urban planning experts. Dr. Meera Iyer, a leading environmental scientist, commented, “If executed as planned, this project could serve as a model for sustainable urban development across India.”

Ravi Group’s initiatives align with the Maharashtra government’s push for green building practices and affordable housing. State Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad praised the company’s efforts, stating, “We welcome such innovative projects that address both environmental concerns and housing needs.”

As Ravi Group embarks on these ambitious projects, all eyes will be on Jayesh Shah and his team to see if they can successfully deliver on their promises of sustainable and affordable urban living.
