A fatal road rage incident in Khowai, Tripura, resulted in the loss of one life and severe injuries to ten individuals. The tragedy unfolded when a passenger auto collided with a pick-up truck during heavy rain at Sonatola village in the Khowai district.
Incident Details:
The collision occurred in adverse weather conditions, causing the auto and pick-up truck to crash. The impact led to injuries for ten individuals, and tragically, one person lost their life at the accident site. The injured victims were swiftly transported to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala for urgent medical attention.
A police official provided details of the incident, stating, “During heavy rain in Khowai this afternoon, one passenger auto and one pick-up truck met with an accident. In this, 10 persons were injured, and one died on the spot. After the incident, we shifted one person to Khowai where the lady was declared dead, and the rest of them were referred to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala. Due to the rain, the auto driver somehow collided with the pick-up truck, and then it turned turtle. Around six persons were inside the auto.”
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed condolences and directed medical personnel to provide proper treatment to the injured victims. In a statement on social media, he mentioned, “I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wish the injured a speedy recovery. Also, gave proper instructions to the doctors on duty to treat the injured.”
The victims involved in the tragic incident were identified as Kakali Debbarma, Payel Debbarma, Mahek Debbarma, Samir Debbarma, Rustam Debbarma, Lokesh Debbarma, Manimala Debbarma, Manoj Debbarma, and Bindu Debbarma.
