His tour includes inaugurations, foundation stone-laying ceremonies, and participation in the ongoing Hornbill Festival. The visit aims to strengthen the government’s long-term development vision for the region.

Upon his arrival at the airport, Scindia spoke to reporters and reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “firm resolve” to ensure comprehensive development across the Northeast. Scindia noted that 10 per cent of the gross budgetary support is dedicated exclusively to the Northeast. This translates to more than Rs 1 lakh crore annually, creating new opportunities for infrastructure, connectivity, and community development. The minister stated that this allocation proves the Centre’s seriousness toward bridging regional gaps and boosting the Northeast’s economic potential.

Scindia Highlights Centre’s Commitment to Northeast Development Push

During his visit, Scindia is scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several major projects. These initiatives include upgrades in communications services, infrastructure support systems, and public welfare facilities. With these developments, the Centre aims to strengthen essential services while ensuring that every corner of the region benefits from accessible technology and improved mobility.

The minister also stated that the Northeast continues to experience unprecedented attention from the Centre. He pointed out that large-scale investments in roads, digital networks, aviation, and community infrastructure have helped strengthen regional integration. As a result, states like Nagaland are experiencing more opportunities to connect with national and international markets.

Scindia’s participation in the Hornbill Festival adds a cultural dimension to his visit. The festival remains one of the most significant multicultural platforms in the region. It showcases Nagaland’s heritage while drawing thousands of visitors from across the world. The Northeast development push has also helped boost tourism, with improved connectivity encouraging more travellers to explore the region.

Projects Under the Northeast Development Push Gain Momentum

Scindia’s visit is expected to give further momentum to ongoing projects under the DoNER Ministry. Many of these schemes focus on improving last-mile connectivity, strengthening digital infrastructure, and supporting livelihood generation. The minister reiterated that development will remain inclusive, ensuring equal progress for both urban and rural areas.

The Act East, Act Fast and Act First strategy has helped accelerate approvals, reduce delays, and ensure timely execution of projects. Under this model, states receive consistent support from the Centre, enabling faster decision-making and improved coordination among departments. This structure has allowed the Northeast to move steadily toward economic expansion and infrastructural modernisation.

Scindia also acknowledged the region’s unique strengths, including its cultural richness, strategic location, and young population. He mentioned that continued investments in education, skill development, and connectivity can unlock new economic avenues for locals. The Northeast development push aims to empower communities and build a strong foundation for long-term prosperity.

As his three-day visit continues, the minister is expected to meet local leaders, review project progress, and address regional challenges. His engagements will play a key role in shaping the next phase of development efforts in Nagaland and beyond.

With strong financial backing, targeted policies, and consistent monitoring, the Centre’s development vision for the Northeast remains clear and focused. Scindia’s visit reinforces this commitment and signals a promising phase of growth for the entire region.
