Guwahati: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Goley extended heartfelt greetings to educators across the country, with a special tribute to the dedicated teachers of Sikkim. 

The day, celebrated annually on the birth anniversary of former President and philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of education and mentorship in shaping society.

The Chief Minister described teachers as the guiding lights and true foundation of any progressive community. He lauded their tireless efforts in nurturing generations of students with values, knowledge, and resilience, highlighting that their contribution goes far beyond classroom teaching. According to him, Sikkim’s teachers have played a pivotal role in building character, instilling confidence, and preparing responsible citizens for the state, the nation, and the world.

Tamang urged teachers to continue fostering strong bonds with their students and to nurture curiosity, creativity, and innovation. He encouraged them to guide learners toward becoming future leaders and entrepreneurs who can create opportunities for others. “Teachers are the fountain of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration,” he said, emphasizing that their influence uplifts not just individuals but entire communities.

Concluding his message, the Chief Minister extended warm wishes on behalf of the people of Sikkim, reaffirming the government’s commitment to honor and support the teaching fraternity.
