Stone Mine Collapses in Mizoram, 12 Workers Feared Trapped

A stone quarry has collapsed in Mizoram. During this, 12 workers are feared to be trapped. According to the information, more than a dozen laborers have been trapped due to the mine collapse. Most are being told from Bihar.

According to sources, the employees of the private company had just returned from their lunch break at Mauddh in Hanthiyal district when the stone quarry collapsed. Many workers were buried under the mine along with excavation and drilling machines. Volunteers from Leet village and Hanthiyal town reached the spot for the rescue operation. State Disaster Response Force, Border Security Force and Assam Rifles have been called in to assist in the search and rescue operations. The mine has been operational for two and a half years.
