Relief swept across the community after 12-year-old Suhel Debbarma, a Class 7 student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan who had been missing since August 28, was finally traced and safely handed over to his family.
According to reports, Suhel had gone missing two days earlier, sparking deep concern among his parents, relatives, and the local community. His disappearance triggered an immediate search operation that combined efforts from student organizations, local volunteers, and police officials.
The Tripura Indigenous Students Forum (TISF) played a pivotal role in coordinating the search. TISF Simna Division Convenor Mr. Rahul Debbarma and TISF Agartala Joint Convenor Mr. Shidarth Debbarma, along with dedicated TISF warriors, actively joined hands with law enforcement authorities to locate the missing boy. Their collective efforts, combined with public support, ultimately ensured Suhel’s safe recovery.
Family members expressed immense gratitude to TISF and the police for their swift response and relentless efforts. “We were extremely worried for Suhel’s safety. The way everyone came together and worked day and night is truly commendable,” said one of his relatives.
Community leaders also hailed the coordination between student organizations and police officials, highlighting the importance of such unity in times of crisis. “This incident shows the strength of collective responsibility. When the community stands together, challenges can be faced with courage and hope,” said a local elder.
The exact circumstances of Suhel’s disappearance remain unclear, though officials have assured that necessary investigations are underway to ensure his safety and to prevent such incidents in the future. Authorities are also expected to counsel the child and his family as part of post-recovery support.
The news of Suhel’s safe return has brought a wave of relief not only to his family but also to the wider community in Agartala and Simna. Parents and residents have been reminded of the importance of constant vigilance and timely communication with children.
This successful search and reunion has reaffirmed faith in the combined efforts of youth organizations, community volunteers, and police authorities. It also stands as a reminder that unity and quick action can save lives.
For now, Suhel is back home, safe in the arms of his relieved family, who thanked everyone involved in bringing their child back unharmed.
