The import of food goods such as fish, meat, and poultry has been prohibited by the federal government from other countries in India.

Due to the prompt action of Dr. Manik Saha, the chief minister of Tripura, the import of fish, meat, and poultry items from foreign nations is allowed in Tripura. He appealed to the central government to lift the ban on fish imports from the state.

This list also included the Akhaura Integrated Check Post in Tripura, which is located on the western edge of Agartala. Due to the state’s low fish output, the prohibition on fish imports from Bangladesh caused significant difficulty for the people in the state.

Manik Saha took the appropriate actions and contacted the minister of the relevant ministry of the federal government to urge the lifting of the restriction since residents of the state consume far more fish than the national average.

In a letter, the Tripura government formally requested that Akhaura ICP not be included on this list. The central government removed the prohibition from the Akhaura land port at the Chief Minister’s request.
