According to an official, the Election Commission has ordered an investigation into the assaults on a Congress bike rally in the Majlishpur Assembly seat of the West Tripura state.
Fifteen party employees and officials, including All India Congress Committee general secretary Ajay Kumar, was allegedly hurt in the incident, according to the Congress.
Meanwhile, the police stated that the 10 party employees were hurt and that the attacks were carried out by unidentified criminals. The polling panel requested the CEO’s office to obtain a report from the Director General of the Police of Tripura and submit it today.
According to the chief executive officer, three police complaint reports (FIRs) have been made about the violence in Majlishpur, and eight suspects have already been taken into custody.
