Multiple Programmes Held Across Banamalipur

Meanwhile, the largest celebrations took place in the Banamalipur constituency. Former PCC president and MLA Gopal Chandra Roy organised events at 14 different locations. Early in the morning, between 6 am and 9 am, he hoisted the national flag at each venue. He also participated in several garlanding ceremonies.

Moreover, the events attracted many residents. Children and senior citizens received biscuits, chocolates, and sweets. In addition, volunteers distributed Mahaprasad (khichdi) at all the locations. Consequently, the food distribution helped create a warm and community-friendly atmosphere.

Security Ensured for Peaceful Events

Since Gopal Chandra Roy feared possible disruptions from BJP workers, he requested police protection. In response, the authorities deployed adequate security. Therefore, all the programmes concluded peacefully.

After the events, Gopal Chandra Roy expressed relief and satisfaction. “We observed the birth anniversary of our great leader peacefully,” he said. He further criticised the BJP for using Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary for its Unity Day programme. However, he added that the ruling party did not interfere with the birth anniversary celebrations.

Congress Reaffirms Indira Gandhi’s Legacy

Additionally, TPCC leaders highlighted Indira Gandhi’s contributions to India’s progress. They stated that the party remains committed to protecting and promoting her ideals. Throughout the day, Congress workers participated actively in various tribute activities. As a result, the programmes strengthened internal unity and reinforced the party’s connection with the people.
