Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Sushanta Chowdhury confirmed the achievement on Tuesday, highlighting the state’s commitment to modernizing its public distribution system.
Officials have been working to ensure the successful transition from paper-based ration cards to more durable and technologically advanced PVC cards. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, reduce fraudulent activities, and streamline access to subsidized food grains under the National Food Security Act. The government has set an ambitious target to complete the e-KYC process for all beneficiaries within the next few months.
To accelerate the verification process, the government has deployed additional resources, including mobile camps and digital kiosks in rural and urban areas. Authorities have taken strict action against fair price shop dealers who failed to comply with distribution norms.
