Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reviewed the progress of centrally sponsored schemes for the financial year 2024-25, stressing the need for timely execution and effective implementation. During the high-level meeting, he examined various projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural development in the state. He directed officials to address bottlenecks at the grassroots level to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries without delays.
The review focused on accelerating the pace of ongoing schemes and enhancing coordination between departments. Saha emphasized that efficient utilization of funds is crucial for achieving the objectives outlined in the ₹32,423 crore budget allocated for the state’s development. He urged officials to maintain transparency and accountability in implementing welfare programs, ensuring that resources are used effectively.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister assessed key projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ayushman Bharat scheme. He instructed officials to expedite housing projects for economically weaker sections and improve water supply coverage across rural and urban areas. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that government hospitals and primary health centers receive adequate resources to serve the public efficiently.
Saha reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the state’s connectivity through infrastructure development. He reviewed the progress of national highway expansion projects and railway connectivity initiatives, stressing their importance in boosting trade and tourism. He urged departments to resolve land acquisition issues and complete projects within the stipulated timeframe.
The meeting also addressed employment generation and skill development programs. The Chief Minister called for a structured approach to enhancing vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth. He encouraged officials to collaborate with industries and educational institutions to equip students with job-ready skills, aligning with the state’s economic growth plans.
After reviewing the progress of various welfare initiatives, Saha directed officials to submit periodic reports to monitor the schemes’ effectiveness. He reaffirmed the government’s goal of ensuring inclusive development and delivering on promises made to the people. With a substantial budget in place, he expressed confidence that Tripura would witness significant growth in the coming months, driven by efficient governance and strong policy execution.
