Surjyabala Saha, the 84-year-old mother of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, was airlifted to Kolkata yesterday evening for advanced medical treatment. She was admitted to GBP hospital in Agartala on Thursday last week with a heart problem and other serious age-related ailments.
Despite receiving visits from many VVIPs, including former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, local doctors treating Surjyabala Saha in the ICU recommended that she be transferred to Kolkata for better medical care. She was admitted to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata upon her arrival.
The Chief Minister’s mother’s medical condition has been a source of concern for many people in the state. Her transfer to Kolkata for advanced medical treatment highlights the need for high-quality medical facilities in Tripura and the importance of timely medical intervention.
