Tripura Enrolls Under The ‘Ni-Kshay Mitra’ Project

The Tripura governor Satyadeo Narain Arya and officials on Saturday enrolled themselves as ‘Ni-Kshay Mitra’ from the web portal.

‘Ni-Kshay Mitra’ is a scheme under the aegis of the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) to support the nutritional needs of TB patients.

During the ceremony at the Raj Bhawan in Agartala city, they announced this news. To give support to TB patients including nutritional food. Arya also handed over a food basket to two child patients suffering from TB on Saturday.

TB the full form of this is Tuberculosis it is an infectious disease that can only be cured with proper treatment and diet at the right time. Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi has announced targeting TB patients and making them free from this disease by 2025 the project is named as “TB free India”. This is a step to reduce tuberculosis disease in India. The pledge of making TB-free India by the central government will insure physical and nutritional support to the patient.

Ni-Kshay also helps TB patients with nutritious food every month, to raise awareness about TB, detect TB, provide vocational support, etc. The support will be provided for 6 months to 3 years. Those who are the collective body of the state, public representative, any public-private institution, office, district, subdivision, block panchayat, or any cooperative corporate, elected public representative, or political party, NGO can act as a ‘Ni-Kshay Mitra’. Registration is very easy the person just has to log in to the Web portal (www.nikshay.in).

Right now 1680 active TB patients have agreed to receive community support and need additional nutritional support. Many officers were present at this function on Saturday.
