In a bid to extend healthcare access to all, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha unveiled the ‘Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana’ on Thursday. This state scheme, aligned with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, aims to provide medical coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh to eligible beneficiaries.

Launch Event and Distribution of Benefits

The launch event took place at the Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan ground, where Dr. Saha distributed documents to a group of beneficiaries. Describing the CMJAY as a significant initiative, he emphasized its role in offering health security to all residents of Tripura.

Under the CMJAY, individuals not covered by Ayushman Bharat or any other government insurance scheme can now access medical benefits. Dr. Saha highlighted the scheme’s goal of ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for every segment of the state’s population.

The CMJAY aims to bridge gaps in healthcare coverage, especially for those who face financial constraints in seeking medical treatment. By providing coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh, the scheme offers comprehensive support for various healthcare needs, including hospitalization, surgeries, and treatments for critical illnesses.

Through this initiative, the government seeks to empower marginalized communities and individuals by offering them financial protection against healthcare expenses. The CMJAY strives to alleviate the burden of medical costs, enabling beneficiaries to access quality healthcare services without worrying about financial constraints.

Dr. Saha reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing public health and welfare. By implementing schemes like CMJAY, Tripura aims to enhance the overall well-being of its citizens and promote inclusive development across the state.
