Focus on financial independence and entrepreneurship
While addressing the gathering, Saha said that Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of creating a self-reliant India led by empowered women. He highlighted that financial independence remains the foundation for women’s empowerment. Therefore, the campaign will help women develop sustainable income through training, market linkages, and micro-entrepreneurship.
The Chief Minister added that TRLM will work to strengthen SHGs across Tripura. Women will receive assistance in accessing loans, developing skills, and managing small-scale enterprises. According to him, such measures will encourage women to become entrepreneurs instead of job seekers, making them active contributors to the state’s rural economy.
Saha also announced that the government will monitor the mission’s progress to ensure timely implementation. He urged district administrations to identify potential beneficiaries and provide them with direct support.
Multi-dimensional approach under TRLM
Officials explained that TRLM will implement Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura through a three-tier approach: livelihood diversification, capacity building, and digital inclusion. Women’s groups will be encouraged to explore opportunities in agriculture, handicrafts, food processing, and rural tourism.
Through TRLM, the state government will help SHGs establish direct connections with markets and financial institutions. This will ensure better access to capital and reduce dependence on middlemen. Furthermore, awareness sessions will be organized to educate women about financial management and business sustainability.
Rural Development Department officials stated that over 40,000 SHGs are already active under TRLM. These groups have significantly improved the economic conditions of thousands of women. The addition of Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura will expand the program’s reach, covering new sectors and introducing innovative support models.
Chief Minister interacts with women beneficiaries
During the event, Chief Minister Saha interacted with SHG members who shared their success stories. Many women spoke about how previous TRLM initiatives helped them start small businesses and gain financial stability. They expressed hope that Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura would further empower them to scale up their ventures and create jobs for others.
The Chief Minister praised their determination and resilience. He noted that women’s contribution to rural development is invaluable and deserves continuous encouragement. He also said that such initiatives will inspire a new generation of women leaders in the state’s villages.
Showcasing rural talent and creativity
The launch ceremony included an exhibition by SHG members featuring handmade crafts, agricultural produce, and traditional items. The display represented Tripura’s diverse culture and creativity. Visitors admired the craftsmanship and expressed appreciation for the government’s decision to support these talents through structured programs.
Saha emphasized that promoting local products aligns with the “Vocal for Local” campaign. He said that women-led enterprises can play a vital role in strengthening the state’s rural economy and preserving traditional art forms.
Plans for digital empowerment and market access
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister announced that the government will soon introduce digital initiatives under Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura. These will include online marketing platforms, e-commerce training, and financial literacy programs. The aim is to help women entrepreneurs access wider markets and get fair prices for their products.
Saha said that technology-driven growth will help bridge the rural-urban divide. He stressed that digital inclusion is key to empowering women in today’s fast-changing economic environment. Moreover, he urged officials to ensure that rural women receive proper guidance in using these tools effectively.
Building sustainable livelihoods and social awareness
Officials highlighted that the Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura is not limited to economic empowerment. It also focuses on creating awareness about health, nutrition, and education. This integrated model aims to improve women’s overall well-being and enhance their decision-making power within families and communities.
The initiative will also encourage collective action among women through SHG federations. These federations will act as platforms for networking, knowledge exchange, and social support. In addition, the mission seeks to strengthen coordination between government departments, banks, and private partners.
A vision for long-term transformation
As the event concluded, optimism filled the air. Women participants expressed gratitude to the government for launching a mission that recognizes their potential. They said that Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura would open new opportunities and help them achieve financial stability and respect in society.
Experts believe that this initiative could serve as a model for other states. By linking rural women’s empowerment with livelihood creation, Tripura has demonstrated a forward-looking approach to sustainable development.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive growth. He said that the success of Samriddhi Abhiyan Tripura will depend on collective efforts and community participation. He concluded by stating that empowering women means empowering the entire state.
