The Dhalai District Magistrate’s conference hall hosted the second-phase review meeting for the 2025–26 financial year. Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Sudhangshu Das, chaired the session. The meeting focused on progress, challenges, and upcoming development steps across departments.
Several public representatives and senior officials attended the review. Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Sushmita Das, Saha-Sabhadhipati Anadi Sarkar, MLA Shambhulal Chakma, Ambassa Municipal Council Chairperson Pratima Malakar, Ambassa Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Hemali Debbarma, and Salema Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Bani Das were present. Moreover, officers from multiple departments joined the discussions and shared detailed progress reports.
Review of Budget Use and Pending Tasks
During the session, Minister Sudhangshu Das examined the utilisation of allocated funds. He asked officials to identify delays and explain the reasons behind unfinished tasks. Furthermore, he reviewed the action taken on decisions from the previous district-level meeting. His focus remained on speeding up ongoing works and ensuring that each project delivers timely results.

Focus on Fisheries and Livestock Development
The meeting included a detailed review of fish, meat, and egg production in the district. Although Dhalai recorded growth, the minister said the district can improve further. Therefore, he instructed departments to adopt better strategies to increase output and close performance gaps.
Furthermore, he highlighted that fisheries and livestock development support rural incomes. Many Scheduled Caste families depend on these sectors for livelihood. Strengthening these activities, he said, will create more opportunities for them.
Improving Scheme Implementation
Officials also presented updates on various central and state schemes aimed at farmers, Scheduled Caste communities, and students. They discussed the distribution of benefits and the progress of welfare programmes. Additionally, the minister asked departments to ensure that each eligible household receives support without delay.
He reminded them that effective implementation drives inclusive development. Therefore, he encouraged officers to remove bottlenecks and increase the pace of service delivery.
Minister Reports 98% Progress
Minister Das announced that departments have completed nearly 98% of their planned work for the financial year. This progress, he said, reflects strong teamwork. Even so, he pushed departments to complete the remaining tasks. His goal is to reach full implementation for the benefit of the people.
“Our aim is to deliver 100% services to the public,” he said. Later, he urged officers to stay focused and address operational issues at the earliest.
New Initiatives Coming Soon
Looking ahead, the minister said the government is preparing several new initiatives. These upcoming steps will strengthen public services and expand development support across the state. Details will be announced soon. He assured that these measures will directly benefit residents and improve the overall pace of growth.
Finally, he thanked all representatives and officials for their cooperation. He encouraged them to work together to keep the district on the path of progress.
