Tripura Opposition Criticizes BJP for Stalling Progress Behind “Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura” Slogan

Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury launched a scathing critique of the ruling BJP in Tripura, accusing the party of pushing the state backward while hiding behind slogans like “Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura.” Addressing a gathering on Saturday, Chaudhury claimed that the BJP’s governance lacked substance and failed to deliver on promises made during election campaigns.

Chaudhury expressed concern over what he described as the deteriorating socio-economic condition of Tripura. He pointed to issues like rising unemployment, lack of infrastructure development, and the erosion of democratic practices under the BJP-led administration. According to him, the state’s progress had stalled, and critical sectors, including education and healthcare, were suffering due to neglect and mismanagement.

He argued that the “Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura” slogan was being used as a smokescreen to divert public attention from the government’s inability to address fundamental issues. He accused the ruling party of prioritizing optics over substance and focusing on grandiose campaigns instead of grassroots development.

The Leader of Opposition criticized the government’s approach to unemployment, which he said remained alarmingly high despite promises of job creation.
