In the recent flood in Assam, the worst flood-affected part in the state was Silchar town in the Cachar district.

The residents of Silchar town in the Cachar district of Assam have been facing a shortage of basic commodities, including water, as the town continued to reel under flood water for 11 consecutive days.

At this time of despair, a professor of Tripura University has come to the rescue of the residents of Silchar town in the Cachar district of Assam.

The Tripura University professor, Harjeet Nath, developed a “portable water purifier” in 2019, which he now has used to provide over 250 liters of drinking water to flood-affected residents of Silchar town in the Cachar district of Assam.

His innovation is helping the people of Assam now in their most needed time of help.

Harjeet Nath is an assistant professor in the department of chemical and polymer engineering at Tripura University.

As per the source, Tripura University dispatched a six-member team to Silchar in Assam with flood relief materials like food, medicines, and also with water purifier machines.
