Remika Reang, a student of Tripura Sports School, Panisagar, has been invited to attend the AIFF-FIFA Under-16 Girls Talent Academy trials to be held in Hyderabad.
Remika, who has been training at the state-run sports school, was shortlisted following her performance at regional-level selections. The AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy trials aim to identify promising footballers under the age of 16 who can be groomed for future national and international competitions.
The upcoming trials in Hyderabad will bring together selected players from different states, where they will be evaluated by national-level coaches under the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and FIFA guidelines. Successful candidates will get the opportunity to join the Talent Academy for advanced training and development.
Officials of the Tripura Sports Department confirmed her selection and stated that she will represent the state in the upcoming trials. They also said that necessary support has been extended to ensure her smooth participation.
The selection of Remika marks an important recognition of the talent being nurtured at Tripura Sports School, Panisagar, which has been working to promote sporting excellence among young athletes in the state.
The AIFF-FIFA U-16 Girls Talent Academy is considered a key platform for identifying young footballers who may later represent India in AFC and FIFA age-group tournaments.
With her participation in the Hyderabad trials, Remika joins a select group of young footballers from across the country competing for a place in the academy.
