The Udaipur police conducted a successful anti-gambling raid at Hotel Imperial, arresting seven individuals and seizing ₹1,24,450 in cash. The operation was led by SDPO Udaipur along with OC Radha Kishore Pur Police Station and their staff.
The raid, based on intelligence inputs, targeted illegal gambling activities reportedly taking place in a hotel room. Police also recovered mobile phones and other materials that may aid ongoing investigations into illegal betting networks.
“This operation demonstrates our commitment to curbing illegal gambling and ensuring law and order in the city. Such activities are unlawful and create opportunities for other crimes,” said the SDPO leading the operation.
The arrested individuals have been taken to Radha Kishore Pur Police Station, where further investigation is underway. Authorities warned that anyone involved in gambling or facilitating it could face strict legal action under relevant laws.
Residents of Udaipur welcomed the action, noting that such raids help maintain public safety and prevent criminal exploitation of local establishments. The police have also intensified monitoring in hotels, clubs, and other potential hotspots to prevent unlawful games of chance.
