Hornbill festival in Nagaland begins today at Naga Heritage Village, Kisma. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the Hornbill Festival, popularly known as the Festival of Festivals, at 4 pm today. Nagaland Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi is the chief host of the festival and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is hosting the event. The launch of the festival will be followed by a cultural program titled Yeh Hai Nagaland. On the occasion of India assuming the chairmanship of G-20 today, the emblem of G-20 has also been displayed in the Naga heritage village Kisama. The G-20 logo has also been included in all promotional materials. The Hornbill festival showcases the diversity and splendor of the rich and vibrant culture and cultural heritage of the Naga race. This festival is named after the hornbill bird. Which is known for alertness and grandeur. The festival promoting the cultural heritage of Nagaland will continue till 10th December.
