“Our journey toward Viksit Bharat begins here, in our villages, in our schools, and in our homes,” he added.
Infrastructure and Innovation at the Core of Viksit Sikkim
Highlighting key development areas, the CM said that infrastructure expansion, green technology, and tourism will be the three main drivers for Viksit Sikkim. He announced upcoming investments in rural roads, digital connectivity, and hydroelectric projects to power the state’s future.
The government will also focus on sustainable tourism to protect the fragile ecology of Sikkim while creating jobs for locals. “We don’t just want development; we want responsible development,” Tamang said.

To support this, the state plans to expand startup funding and mentorship opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

In his speech, the CM stressed that Viksit Sikkim cannot leave anyone behind. He pledged to strengthen welfare schemes for farmers, senior citizens, women, and marginalized communities.
Tamang pointed out that inclusive growth is a key part of the Viksit Bharat roadmap, and Sikkim is already making progress through targeted health, education, and housing schemes.
He also praised the people of Sikkim for their unity and peaceful nature, saying that social harmony is a foundation for any developmental journey.
