Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gite held a meeting with 8 political parties on the Code of Conduct for Elections in Tripura. He asked for everyone’s cooperation to complete the assembly election without violence.
The Chief Electoral Officer said in a press conference organized at the conference hall of West Tripura district today that all the incidents related to the election of 8 districts of Tripura are under the notice of the commission and quick action is being taken in this regard.
The Commission continues to make every effort to prevent any untoward incident. He also added that with the announcement of the election, the code of conduct has been introduced across Tripura. Today a meeting was held with 8 political parties to discuss the model code of conduct and other issues.
He said that election observers will start coming to the state from tomorrow. First comes the cost watcher. The Chief Election Officer said that 8 people have already been arrested in an unpleasant incident in Jiraniya yesterday. In another incident in Kamalpur, 4 people have already been arrested based on the complaint of the victim’s family.
District Magistrate of West Tripura district Debpriya Vardhan, Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath were present in the press conference on this day.
