Tripura government led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha distributed 975 appointment letters for the posts of constables at a grand official event held in Hall No-1 of Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan today. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from job beneficiaries and their families, celebrating the occasion in a festive atmosphere.
While addressing the gathering, CM Dr. Manik Saha expressed satisfaction over the government’s ongoing efforts in providing transparent and merit-based employment opportunities to the youth. He acknowledged the anxiety among candidates who had been waiting for job confirmations and assured them that the state is committed to timely recruitment based on qualification and merit.
“From February 4 till now, we have provided appointment letters to 4,499 individuals across departments. This process will continue based on the state’s requirements,” said the Chief Minister. He added that the recruitment is being done transparently through competitive exams, maintaining a 33% reservation for women.
Dr. Saha also shared that the government had approved recruitment for 432 additional positions in various departments just a day earlier. Furthermore, to strengthen the state police force, 916 more constables and 218 sub-inspectors will soon be recruited. The CM highlighted that the government is actively working on special executive appointments to fill critical vacancies.
Transparent Recruitment Process
The Chief Minister took a firm stand against political favoritism in the recruitment process, stating,
“Gone are the days when the youth had to join processions or visit party offices to secure jobs. Now, everything is done based on merit and fairness.”
Since coming to power in 2018, the BJP-led state government has provided employment to 17,554 individuals, a figure that directly counters opposition allegations of job scarcity, said Dr. Saha. He also emphasized the importance of newly appointed constables serving society with dedication and integrity.
“Your duty is not just a job—it is a service to the people. Take care of your families and carry out your responsibilities with pride,” he advised the recruits.
This large-scale recruitment drive is expected to significantly enhance law enforcement capacity in Tripura, while also showcasing the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and good governance.
