The Railway Safety Commissioner recently inspected the 51.38 km Bairabi-Sairang route. The project features 87 minor bridges, 55 major bridges, and 32 tunnels, making it one of the most complex in the region.
After a detailed inspection of safety, alignment, and signaling systems, the Commissioner approved the line for operations. Freight trains will likely begin operating soon, followed by passenger services in a phased manner.
