Arunachal Pradesh Governor Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik on Wednesday urged young people to rise above regional divisions and work towards strengthening national unity and social harmony. Addressing a youth interaction programme in Itanagar, the Governor said the younger generation has a crucial role in building a stronger, more inclusive, and united India.
Speaking before students, youth leaders, and officials, Governor Parnaik encouraged young people to embrace diversity and develop a broader national outlook. He said India’s strength lies in its unity despite differences in language, culture, religion, and geography.
The Governor stressed that youths from different parts of the country should interact more frequently and learn from each other’s traditions and experiences. According to him, such exchanges can reduce misunderstandings and promote mutual respect among communities.

Governor Calls Youths the Backbone of the Nation
During his address, the Governor described young people as the backbone of the nation and future drivers of development. He said India’s progress depends greatly on the energy, creativity, and vision of its youth population.
Parnaik urged students to focus on education, innovation, and leadership while also remaining socially responsible citizens. He said youths should actively contribute to nation-building instead of getting divided by narrow regional or political interests.
The Governor added that young people from northeastern states possess immense talent and potential. He encouraged them to participate confidently in national platforms related to education, entrepreneurship, sports, and public service.
According to him, stronger youth participation in national activities would help bridge gaps between regions and create deeper emotional integration across the country.
Emphasis on Cultural Exchange and Understanding
Governor Parnaik stressed the importance of cultural exchange programmes in promoting unity. He said interactions among students from different states can help eliminate stereotypes and foster stronger national bonds.
He noted that the Northeast often remains misunderstood by people from other regions of India. At the same time, youths from the Northeast may also carry misconceptions about mainland regions. Therefore, he encouraged greater communication and travel opportunities for students and professionals.
The Governor said educational institutions should organise more inter-state programmes, cultural festivals, and youth exchange initiatives. Such efforts, he explained, can create awareness about India’s cultural diversity and shared heritage.
He also praised the role of educational institutions and youth organisations in promoting social harmony and national integration.
Northeast Plays Important Role in India’s Growth
The Governor highlighted the strategic and cultural importance of the Northeast in India’s development journey. He said the region serves as a gateway to Southeast Asia and holds immense potential in tourism, trade, culture, and natural resources.
Parnaik added that the central government has increased its focus on infrastructure and connectivity projects in northeastern states. Improved roads, airports, and digital networks, he said, are helping the region connect more closely with the rest of the country.
He urged youths to take advantage of emerging opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, and skill development. According to him, the younger generation can transform the Northeast into a major centre of growth and innovation.
The Governor also encouraged students to become ambassadors of peace and unity while representing the values and traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
Youths Asked to Reject Division and Hatred
During the programme, Governor Parnaik warned against divisive ideologies and social hatred. He urged young people to reject misinformation, discrimination, and prejudice in all forms.
He said social media and digital platforms should become tools for learning and positive engagement rather than spreading negativity and division. The Governor encouraged students to use technology responsibly and contribute constructively to society.
Parnaik further stated that true patriotism means respecting every community and protecting the unity of the nation. He said India’s democratic system thrives when people support harmony, equality, and mutual understanding.
The Governor also appealed to youths to remain aware of constitutional values and civic responsibilities. He said discipline, honesty, and compassion are essential qualities for future leaders.
Students and Officials Attend Interaction Programme
The event witnessed participation from students, teachers, youth organisations, and government officials from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Several students also interacted with the Governor and shared their views on education, employment, and regional development.
Officials said the programme aimed to inspire young people to take active roles in nation-building and social development. Cultural performances and discussions on youth empowerment formed part of the event.
Participants appreciated the Governor’s message on unity and inclusiveness. Many students said such interactions motivate young people to think beyond regional boundaries and contribute positively to the country.
Youth leaders present at the programme also stressed the need for better educational opportunities, skill development, and career guidance for students in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
Governor Encourages Vision for a Stronger India
Concluding his address, Governor Parnaik urged young people to dream big and work towards creating a stronger and more united India. He said youths should remain proud of their local identity while also embracing their national identity with equal respect.
The Governor added that unity does not mean losing cultural uniqueness. Instead, he said national integration becomes stronger when every region and community contributes its traditions and strengths to the country.
He expressed confidence that the younger generation of Arunachal Pradesh would play an important role in shaping India’s future through innovation, leadership, and social harmony.
The programme ended with a renewed call for youth-driven nation-building and stronger connections among communities across India. Officials said the Governor’s message reflected the growing focus on inclusiveness, unity, and youth empowerment in the Northeast.
