Arunachal: IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team Set to Enthrall Audience at Itanagar

The Indian Air Force’s renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) is all geared up to showcase its thrilling aerial maneuvers in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, following its mesmerizing performance at Tezpur just five days ago.

Spectacular Air Show

Scheduled for Saturday at 10 am, the SKAT’s display promises to enthrall spectators with its breathtaking aerobatics. Known for its unique formations, the team executes stunning loop manoeuvres, barrel rolls, and creates intricate shapes in the sky, leaving audiences awestruck.

Apart from the SKAT’s performance, the air show will feature various fighter aircraft and helicopters, adding to the excitement of the event.

Established in 1996, SKAT stands out as one of the few nine-aircraft aerobatics teams globally and the sole one in Asia. With an impressive track record of over 500 displays across India and abroad, including countries like China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and UAE, the team embodies the professionalism and prowess of the Indian Air Force.

Operating under the motto “Sadhaiva Sarvottam” (Always the Best), SKAT epitomizes excellence and precision in its performances. Lt Col Mahender Rawat, defense spokesperson for the 4 Corps of the Indian Army, emphasized that the event not only highlights the exceptional skills of the pilots but also serves as an opportunity for the public to appreciate the dedication and excellence of the Indian Air Force.

Rawat further expressed that the primary aim of the SKAT is to raise awareness about the armed forces and inspire the youth to consider a career in the defense services.

The SKAT’s recent display at Tezpur Air Force Station on February 27 garnered widespread attention, captivating thousands of spectators with its awe-inspiring aerobatics.

By showcasing their prowess in Itanagar, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team continues its mission of inspiring and mesmerizing audiences while upholding the legacy of excellence in the Indian Air Force.
