Nagaon(Assam): Police have detained a man in Assam for raping his 11-year-old daughter on multiple occasions.
The arrested accused comes from the Longjap region under the Kachua police station in the Nagaon district of Assam.
The mother of the victim girl lodged a police complaint on September 27.
Based on the complaint lodged by the minor girl’s mother, the accused father was arrested on Tuesday following which he was produced before a court on Wednesday and the court ordered the accused to be sent to judicial custody.
The accused man allegedly raped his minor daughter last on September 20 at their home in Longjap Nagaon district, according to local police.
“The accused father fled the house after committing the crime. Hearing the whole incident, the girl’s mother approached locals but failed to get a proper response. She later lodged a complaint with the police on September 27,” a police officer said as quoted by TOI.
As soon as the complaint was received, the local police took immediate action and arrested the man on the same day, said the officer.
The complainant’s mother told the cops that her husband had earlier also raped his daughter and was even arrested. But, he was later released on bail.
