GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundations for the Sualkuchi-Palasbari Bridge that will be built on the Brahmaputra River.
This was briefed by the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Bidswa sarma Wednesday.
“PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation for the Sualkuchi-Palasbari Bridge over the Brahmaputra,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The bridge over the river Brahmaputra, which will link Sualkuchi with Palasbari in Assam, is estimated to cost approximately Rs 4000 crore.
In October, the Union’s Ministry of Finance approved the proposed bridge on the Brahmaputra River connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi.
The bridge would shorten travel time to Guwahati from the districts of Nalbari, Barpeta, and Baksa in Assam. The overall length of the Sualkuchi-Palasbari bridge project in Assam will be 4.08 kilometers.
