Manik Sarkar , the leader of the opposition had stated that BJP placed its last bet on making Manik Saha the chief minister and replacing Biplab Kumar Deb . And that too when there is less than a year left before the assembly election. He also claimed that the defeat is inevitable in the upcoming elections in Tripura. He also urged the electors to exercise their voting rights in a cautious manner to ensure the defeat of BJP.
The elections will be held on 16 February. He added,” The BJP is not going to retain power this time due to its misdeeds in the past 58 months. It has adopted many anti-people policies and is encouraging corrupt practices,”. He told this to a CPI(M) rally in the west Tripura Jirania Area.
The BJP is trying to retain power and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have already visited the state . But the people have made up their mind to immerse the BJP government for its failure to deliver .”He further claimed that the youth, minorities, Government employees, Tribals have raised the slogan of ,” Immerse the BJP to save the state”.

The BJP won Tripura for the first time in 2018. There were no MLA’s of BJP in the previous assembly. The CPM had a five year gap between 1988 and1993 . In 2018, BJP won the state with 36 seats in the 60 member Legislative Assembly. Its ally IPFT got eight seats.
