CM Manik Saha Inaugurates 18 Development Projects Across Sepahijala District

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha launched a major development drive in Sepahijala district on Tuesday. He inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 18 projects covering education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public services.
He opened the new Sonamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office and also launched several projects virtually from the same venue.

The program saw the presence of Ministers Kishor Barman and Shukla Charan Noatia, MLAs Bindu Debnath and Tafajjal Hossain, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Datta, and top district officials.

CM Calls for Inclusive Progress

In his speech, Dr. Saha reaffirmed the government’s focus on balanced growth. He said the administration is working to improve education, healthcare access, and service delivery in every region.
He urged officials to invite opposition representatives to future programs so they can witness the state’s progress.

Dr. Saha also praised the district administration and police for reducing drug abuse, child marriage, and crime. He encouraged citizens to join hands with the government and help create a brighter future for the next generation.

Ministers Kishor Barman and Shuklacharan Noatia addressed the gathering as well. They highlighted the positive impact these new projects will bring to local communities.

New Sonamura SDM Office Opens

Dr. Saha cut the ribbon and unveiled the plaque of the new Sonamura SDM office. He inspected the building soon after the inauguration.
The office will host several government departments under one roof and will serve more than three lakh residents. The event drew a large crowd from nearby areas.

Healthcare Projects to Strengthen Services

The Chief Minister also launched key healthcare projects across the district. These include:

  • New building of Kathalia Community Health Centre
  • New building of Kamangar PHC with staff quarters
  • New OPD complex at Melaghar Sub-Divisional Hospital
  • Vertical extension of Karnainagar PHC
  • New Block Public Health Units at Boxanagar PHC and Dhanpur PHC

These buildings will improve patient care and provide better medical facilities in rural pockets.

Boost for Education Infrastructure

Several schools across Sepahijala and nearby areas received new or upgraded buildings. The projects include:

  • New building of UNC Nagar SB School, Boxanagar
  • New building of Melaghar English Medium School
  • New building of Nabadwip Chandra Institution HS School
  • Additional classrooms at Padmalochan Choupra HS School
  • New building of Shree Sekerkote HS School, West Tripura

A 50-seat Minority Girls’ Hostel at Boxanagar also opened to support girl students who need safe accommodation.

Infrastructure and Public Service Projects

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for an RCC footbridge over the Gomati River at Kamrangatali. The bridge will improve communication between remote villages.
He also inaugurated:

  • New Panchayat building at Nayanjala GP under Boxanagar Block
  • New office buildings at Khedabari and Kamrangatali in Sonamura subdivision
  • New building of Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Purba Nalchar

These projects aim to improve governance and make public services more accessible.

A Step Toward Holistic Development

With these 18 projects, the government aims to strengthen core sectors and improve the lives of thousands of residents. Dr. Saha said the administration will continue to work on long-term development and ensure that every region of Tripura receives equal attention.
